For those not wishing to partake in anything too strenuous, there is also a spa downstairs where massages, hot stone treatments and so on are available. As far as entertainment goes, they have it covered. There is an Irish pub at the resort where performances are held every night by acts like sword eaters, people laying on a bed on nails and something resembling a spinning Russian doll with lots of skirts. However, there was one Butlins style night which made everyone in the room cringe while contestants were told to pose in suggestive positions around a chair.
Our Trip to Africa Was Amazing

I was able to travel with my son to Rwanda. My son was involved in a Save Africa project at school, because him and his fellow students did such a good job on their project they were able to win a safari in Rwanda. My son had never traveled outside of the United States, so a trip to Rwanda was extremely interesting for him. I had never gone on a Rwanda safari either, so I was interested in going as well. The teacher asked if there were any parents interested in going, even though they would have to pay for themselves, and I, of course, I volunteered. When we all arrived in Africa, we were all amazed by the beauty of the country, and the people there were so nice. It was surprising how kind and gentle they were, given the history of the country. We went on our safari, and we had a wonderful time, apart from our safari we were able to stay in Africa for two more weeks and we all enjoyed ourselves. It was such a great experience for my son, and also for me. I was so happy to be able to travel to Rwanda with my son.

Did I ever tell you that I met my husband in Hotel Grenada. You know the one that sits behind the high street. Well, he was a waiter and he had come over from Italy on a work exchange program. One of the waiters from the hotel had gone to Milan to run his role for him whilst he was away.
I was the hotel receptionist. I loved my job, answering phones all day long. It suited me down to the ground and I often popped into the restaurant area to see Paulo whilst he was working. We had never spoken, but I’d sneak a peek at him when he was delivering food or collecting dishes. He was such a dish himself.
One day I was walking along the corridor and he came running behind me with a piece of paper that I must have dropped. Our eyes met, and that was it! A loving couple in the making!

He had been wanting to go fishing there for years now, and he was finally at the point where he could take the time off work and afford the trip too. He had looked at different Alaska Fishing Lodges online and found one that would be perfect for him and his friends. They even invited us women to go along with them but I didn’t want to take the kids out of school. I thought it would be a good bonding time with him and his friends, and the other wives felt the same way. It was an all inclusive trip so they wouldn’t have to worry about food or any of the equipment they might need. They ended up having the time of their lives and insisted that we all go next year.

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011I went to the Uganda safari recently, and it was a really nice to know that I can really count on Uganda to give me the most authentic safari experience. Never in my life would I have thought to do something like this until my boyfriend told me that he experiences so much when he travels. It’s nice to know that there are still people who are so enthusiastic about the world around them. What really scares me is that these species that I see here will extinct, and that future generations won’t be able to see them as I have seen them. That would devastate me, and I wouldn’t want that to happen to them at all. I love my animals and I love this planet. I hope we all can work hard to get things started on conserving these animals and their habitats for ourselves and for our future.
